What if you could be more thankful in life? What if you could practice more gratitude? Let’s take some time to think about what this looks like! Practicing gratitude comes down to a few things. When I think of gratitude, I think of appreciation. I think about waking up and being appreciative of my life and everything around me. To be honest, it’s not always easy to be thankful! Sometimes we moan and groan and think we have it so bad, in reality we have it really good. Here are some ways we can all practice gratitude.
Wake up in prayer
When you wake up being thankful for everything, this is a great start. Wake up and start thanking God for everything He has given you! Waking up in prayer means you’re going to start your day off with gratitude and hopefully end it that way as well. This is truly one of the best way to practice gratitude.
Complete grateful acts
What in the world does this mean? Well, practicing grateful acts come down to acts that can make a difference in your life and the people around you. You could do something as simple as writing a thank you note to your child’s teacher. You could go as far as mowing someone’s lawn because they simply exist. Doing simple acts for others is a great way to practice gratitude.
Have an attitude of Gratitude
Throughout your day, there may be several things that happen that could make it “okay” to not show gratitude. However, you can practice gratitude by just having a grateful attitude. Instead of flipping off the guy who cut you off, you could show gratitude that you weren’t hit. In all honesty, it’s important to have a positive attitude, especially when you’re trying to practice gratitude.
As humans, for some reason we always want more. A great way to practice gratitude is to be content. Be content with the food you have to eat and the roof that’s over your head. Practice gratitude in knowing that you don’t always have to have more or be more. Sometimes it’s a wonderful thing to be content where you’re at.
